I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce Richard Remillard (Profile), who has joined NCFA Canada’s Advisory Board as Special Consultant.
Richard Remillard is the President of Remillard Consulting Group, an Ottawa-based consulting firm specializing in providing clients with solutions to business issues and public policies involving the Canadian financial services industry. From 2003 to 2014, Richard was Executive-Director of Canada’s Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. He has also been a Vice-President of the Canadian Bankers Association, a Special Assistant to the federal Minister of Finance, a Public Affairs Manager with Bank of Montreal and a lecturer at Concordia University.
I first met Richard at the end of his 10 year tenure with the CVCA. He was interested in acquiring data on emerging Crowdfunding markets in Canada. It sparked discussions for a National Research report that eventually led to follow-up meetings that bridged the gap between Richard’s vast knowledge of the financial industry and the road map for crowdfunding as a viable asset class.
As a Special Consultant to NCFA Canada, Richard will assist the Association to strategically grow Canada into a world class Crowdfunding Centre and help strengthen and integrate crowdfunding markets into the existing eco-system. He has already participated in a meeting with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment, together with an assembled group of internal NCFA reps to introduce the Association and garnish support and funding from the province.
Please join me in welcoming Richard to the Advisory Board as Special Consultant and growing leadership team.
All the best,
National Crowdfunding Association of Canada
